Under the Building Regulations Part M (Buildings Other Than Dwellings), provision for wheelchair users and ambulant disabled people is specified.
Equipment
HILLS can supply the necessary equipment for use within disabled facilities alongside the relevant sanitary ware. Use of this within a correctly designed and installed facility will achieve the requirements of the regulations.
Design Considerations
The design of washrooms should reflect the specific needs of disabled people and include consideration of the number and location of WC's. Specifically the regulations require that facilities for wheelchair users should have at least the dimensions, equipment and fittings shown [diagram a]. For ambulant disabled people the requirements are different [diagram b].
